Welcome to the Cherokee County, Ga. Secret Santa website!
We thank you for your interest in our program.
We would like to acquaint you with Secret Santa. Each year at Christmas, Cherokee County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) normally has around 200 children in care. (This year – 2016 – however, we currently have over 350 children in foster care!) These children can range in age from newborn to twenty years old. They may be placed with relatives, in group homes, or in traditional foster homes.
The Cherokee County Secret Santa program is designed to benefit foster children, who have been removed from their own homes due to abuse, neglect, abandonment, or other family problems. Since designated State or County funds cannot cover all the needs of these children, we must look to those in our community to help brighten their lives at Christmas.
The Secret Santa program is operated by volunteers who provide their own supplies. As such, every cent of your aid goes directly to the foster children and is 100% tax deductible.
